Aladdin

Performances: Wed, Fri and Sat evenings at 8pm. Sat matinees at 2pm.
Are you looking for some family entertainment? To start your Christmas off with some fun filled fantasy, Sunnybank Theatre Group is bringing you an original pantomime "Aladdin" where you will see the ballet, the opera, the music hall and the realms of folk-lore and fairy tale. You will experience the present embraced within the past, people hit but not hurt, authority constantly flouted, fun poked at everything including pantomime itself and, above all, magic abounds and dreams invariably coming true.
The characters you will meet are, of course, Aladdin; Widow Twankey his mother who is not about to let him out of her sight because he is "bound to get into trouble"; Wishee Washee who owns the local laundry; Typhoo a very affectionate Panda; the Emperor and Empress who are very regal indeed even if they are a little shall we say "odd"; Princess Baldroubadour their beautiful daughter; Ping and Pong the trusty police force (of two) who try, not very successfully, to keep order around the empire; and finally the wicked Abanazar who will stop at nothing to carry out his evil deeds.
Pantomime is not just for the young but also for the young at heart so come along and join Aladdin throughout his adventure to find his dream.
