A DRAMA BY JEFFERY ARCHER
In Association with ORiGiN Theatrical
DIRECTED BY NATHANIEL YOUNG
Perhaps you’ve read some of Jeffery Archer’s books, Honour Among Thieves, Shall We Tell the President? or one of his “Clifton Chronicles?” In 1987, he wrote his first play, Beyond Reasonable Doubt, a court drama and love story. Starring Frank Finlay and Wendy Craig, it ran at Queen’s Theatre in London’s West End for over 600 shows!
Act One opens with Old Bailey champion, Sir David Metcalfe, representing himself and on trial for the murder of his wife. It’s the toughest legal battle of his career, against wily rival, Anthony Blair-Booth, whose witness is Sir David’s own housekeeper: Mrs Rogers. Act Two take us back to the events leading up to the trial, where we see Sir David at home and meet the charming but terminally ill, Lady Millicent Metcalfe. Is Sir David guilty of murder? Will Mrs Rogers be the undoing of him and his illustrious legal career? How do you pronounce “Cyclotoxelix” anyway? The only way to find out is to come along and find out for yourself!
You must see this exciting, intriguing drama by the infamous Jeffery Archer. His first novel in 1976, Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less, established him as a consummate storyteller with over 25 best selling novels selling in excess of 330 million copies worldwide. He followed a political career, but it all came to an end when convicted and subsequently imprisoned for perjury and perverting the course of justice! Archer also wrote three intriguing plays and this is your wonderful chance to see his gripping Beyond Reasonable Doubt!
The dramatic suspense will keep you guessing until the end, don't miss it!
