What's On

Youth Theatre

Our current co-ordinator has advised us that because of work commitments she will be leaving us so we are looking for a replacement to fill her shoes. This is a term-time position for a bright, enthusiastic person with, or in the process of obtaining, drama qualifications. Our Youth Theatre operates one afternoon each week during term-time for approximately 2/3 hours after school for both junior and senior school age students.

The Co-ordinator will be responsible for the running of the sessions each week and for determining the curriculum.

The Co-ordinator will be required to be in possession of a Blue Card or be eligible to obtain one before commencing work.

The Co-ordinator will be provided with funds to cover travel and expenses and will be required to provide the Management Committee with an ABN.
The Co-ordinator will need to provide a monthly (short) report to the Management Committee outlining the activities of the Youth Theatre.
A liaison person from the Management Committee will be available for the Co-ordinator to discuss any issues as they arise.
If you would like to be involved with our young members and have the time to be our Co-ordinator, please contact the President via email at president@stg.org.au to register your interest.  We are looking to interview at the end of September and if possible we are hoping to have our new coordinator start in Term 4 so that we can provide a smooth handover and transition.

Shirley Valentine

Every so often a mini-legend is born. We see a play or movie and it somehow resonates and becomes a symbol of something magic, something moving, something memorable and something very meaningful. Such is Shirley Valentine. Shirley is a very very ordinary Midlands housewife, taken for granted by her husband and children. She is not particularly happy or unhappy, but she realizes that she has a very little life. And so, an opportunity to travel presents itself, and after some initial reluctance, Shirley embraces the opportunity and that becomes the modern-day legend of Shirley.  This delightful one-woman show is full of laughter and tears, fun and sadness, and teaches us all a lesson.

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre during the run of this romantic comedy-drama.
